Local SEO check: can people find your business on maps and “near me” searches?
Checks the address, phone, schema, map and city signals your business needs for Google Maps, “near me” searches and AI assistants.
What does the local SEO check look at?
When a customer searches for “dentist near me” or “taxi in Van”, Google and AI assistants must find the business name, address, phone and location consistently. The check measures whether this information is visible on the page, marked up with LocalBusiness schema, linked to maps and the Business Profile, whether the city appears in headings and whether mobile visitors can call with one tap.
Name, address, phone
Visible phone and address, business name, schema phone matching the page, e-mail and opening hours.
Local schema
LocalBusiness (or subtype) schema with address, phone, coordinates, opening hours, image, price range and service area.
Map and profile
Embedded map, directions link and Google Business Profile/review link.
Local content
Target city in the title, H1, description and text; service areas and customer reviews.
Mobile contact
Mobile viewport, click-to-call link, WhatsApp, page language and a contact/booking path.
How is the score calculated?
The total is a weighted average of the layers below. Checks within each layer are scored on their own; a critical issue can cap the total.
| Layer | Weight | Measures |
|---|---|---|
| Name, address, phone | %25 | NAP details |
| Local schema | %25 | LocalBusiness |
| Map and profile | %15 | Google Maps |
| Local content | %20 | City signals |
| Mobile contact | %15 | One tap |
What this test measures — and what it cannot
The page was downloaded; if address or phone were missing, the linked contact page was read too. Visible phone and address, LocalBusiness schema, map and Business Profile links, the city in headings and text, and mobile contact buttons were checked. Your Google Business Profile content and review count cannot be measured by this test.
This report is an automated first assessment. It does not guarantee appearing in AI assistants or Google; it only shows measurable technical and content signals.
Frequently asked questions
What is NAP and why does it matter?
NAP stands for business Name, Address and Phone. Writing them exactly the same on your site, Google Business Profile and directories helps Google match your business correctly and show it in local results.
I have a Google Business Profile; what else does my site need?
The profile alone is not enough. Showing the same address and phone on the site, LocalBusiness schema, a link to your profile and headings that include your city strengthen Google’s match between the profile and the site.
How does the check know which city I target?
It first reads the locality (addressLocality) in your LocalBusiness schema; otherwise it uses the province name mentioned most often on the page. If no city is found, the title and description checks show as missing.
