llms.txt generator

llms.txt is a new proposed convention that summarises your site for AI tools; impact is limited but adding it is easy.

Upload it to your site root as llms.txt.

Choose which AI bots may read your site. Unchecked bots are blocked.

AI search
User request
Model training

Blocking training bots does not directly affect AI search visibility; blocking search and user bots does.

Only add questions that are visible on the page.

Add the code to the page <head> and validate with Google’s Rich Results Test.

Write the page title and description, watch how the Google result will look, check the length and copy ready-made HTML tags.

Recommended size 1200×630 pixels.
Google result preview

Add the tags to the page <head>. Every page needs its own title and description.

Common questions

Do I need an llms.txt file?

llms.txt is a new proposed standard that summarises your site for AI tools. Not every assistant uses it yet, so its effect is limited; but adding it takes a few minutes and does no harm.

Should I block AI bots in robots.txt?

Blocking model-training bots does not directly affect your visibility in AI search. Blocking search bots and bots that read pages on behalf of users, however, reduces your chance of being cited in answers.

Where do I put the generated code?

Upload robots.txt and llms.txt to the root of your site (yourdomain.com/robots.txt). Add the JSON-LD schema to the page head and validate it with Google’s Rich Results Test.
